You're a strategic thinker who thrives on orchestrating complex construction projects from both macro and micro level views. As a Project Manager, you'll be the conductor of our projects, ensuring every moving part—from budgets and timelines to client communication—works in perfect harmony. While your role is mainly office based, you provide the foresight and coordination that allows our on-site teams to shine.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and designers, fostering open and transparent communication from a project’s inception to its closeout.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, incorporating lean principles.
  • Manage project finances, including change orders, invoicing, and subcontractor payments, with an entrepreneurial mindset to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Work closely with the Site Superintendent to ensure on-site activities are aligned with the overall project plan, and provide the support they need to succeed.
  • Orchestrate communication with all project stakeholders, including engineers, subcontractors, and vendors, resolving conflicts and ensuring everyone is working towards a shared vision.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive progress reports, including financial summaries, to both our team and our clients, demonstrating a commitment to communication & trust.
  • Identify potential issues early and develop creative, solution-oriented strategies to mitigate risks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a commercial construction project management role, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you are an active listener who fosters collaboration and clarity.
  • The ability to push through challenges with a positive, problem-solving attitude, holding yourself and others accountable.
  • A business financial mindset; you are skilled in negotiation, mindful of spending, and driven by a desire for profitability and efficiency.
  • A love for tinkering with processes and an innate curiosity about how things are built, from logistical perfection to construction details.
  • Proficient with G-Suite and cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience with project management software (BuilderTrend, JobTread, or similar) is essential.

Nice to Have

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Project Management.
  • Experience in the commercial real estate, architectural, or construction industries, with a strong understanding of technical requirements for business relocation.
  • Experience with Lean Construction methodologies and knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance best practices.
  • The ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings at an advanced level, experience with value engineering, and a track record of successfully managing budgets over $1M.
  • Demonstrated leadership and responsiveness, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • A background in a hospitality-related field that has instilled a strong sense of customer service and attention to detail.
  • Experience with a wide range of software, including MS Office, Google Apps, PlanGrid, and project scheduling software like MS Project or Primavera.
  • The ability to speak a second language, especially Spanish, for working with diverse crews.
  • Professional certification such as a PMP, CAPM, or equivalent.
